About the Role
The route driver drives a company vehicle over an established route to deliver vending products and render services. The route driver will deliver excellent customer service to all vending clients by filling soda, snack, and food machines to pre-set levels and ensuring all customer requests are met. The route driver ensures his route is kept at established cleanliness levels and is responsible for the inventory on his vehicle, loading vehicle, paperwork, and the money that will be collected from each vending machine. Route starts at various early morning times.
Principle Tasks: Responsible for ensuring well stocked, clean and working vending machines on a predesignated route. Responsible for making machine collections and bring back to branch office where they are counted and deposited. Completing their route within their normally scheduled hours Keeping vehicle properly maintained, obeying all traffic laws, and a professional appearance. The driver is also responsible for accurate recording of information Driver is held accountable for any shortages if deemed they are responsible. Interacts with other departments as necessary. Responds to customer preferences and industry trends. Maintains required records and appropriate paperwork Ensures that established sanitation and safety standards are maintained. Interacts with clients and acts as the contact for the company. Must be able to work inside and in outdoor weather. Informs management of competitive activities. Reports situations or problems to management. Follow-up on completed tasks.
Requirements
Educational: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Requires a driving record and random drug testing
Experience Vending and Route Driver experience is a plus.
Customer service is a plus.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE
General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities The vending route driver must possess the following: General computer knowledge. General knowledge and understanding of the companies needs. Knowledge of company’s food for the route. Ability to maintain records. Strong written and oral communication skills. Skill in promoting the company products ie specials ect. Ability to work with a hand held scanner for inventory and daily balancing of the machines. Goal Oriented and Good Work ethics Must have a neat appearance. Ability to promote additional sales. Ability to interact with other personnel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work with frequent interruptions. Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling required. Must be able to lifting of up to 50 pounds required. Must have a clean appearance.
